Sanju Samson, the captain of RR won the toss and elected to bowl first against Delhi capitals. From the RR side, Tabraiz Shamsi and David Miller come in for Evin Lewis and Chris Morris.
Whereas Delhi has replaced the injured Marcus Stoinis with Lalit Yadav and will play with three overseas players (Shimron Hetmyer, Kagiso Rabada, and Anrich Nortje)
Delhi Capitals after losing the toss batted first, they scored 154-6 in 20 overs. Rajasthan Royals had to get 155 in 20 overs at the rate of 7.75 runs per over.
RR had a tough time chasing the total and kept on losing the wickets, their major concern was the creeping required run rate that they never were able to meet.

RR Batting
RR needed 155 runs at the required rate of 7.75 runs per over. This seemed to be a difficult total to achieve considering the bowling form of DC and not so set and struggling opening pair, Liam Livingstone and Yashashvi Jaiswal of RR.
As expected RR lost its first wicket in the very first over of their innings in the form of Livingstone to Avesh Khan, RR was 6-1 after 1 over.
They lost Jaiswal to Nortje in the second over, RR was 11-2 after 2 overs.
Sanju Samson and David Miller were in the middle trying to build innings but Ashwin broke the partnership by dismissing Miller at 7, RR was 19-3 after 5 overs.
After the power play (6 overs) RR was 21-3 struggling to maintain the required run rate. From here they needed 134 more runs at the rate of 9.5 runs per over.
Sanju and Mahipal Lomror tried to match the RRR but Rajasthan again lost Lomror to Rabada, RR was 49-4 after 11 overs.
RR now needed106 more runs in the remaining 9 overs, the required run rate was around 12 runs per over. In the very next over, Ryan Parag was dismissed by Axar, RR was 56-5 after 12 overs.
Rahul Tewatia and Sanju fought and Sanju got his half-century in the 17th over, but the target seemed to be too far, RR was 99-5 after 17 overs.
Thereafter, it was a formality to keep playing and try to achieve as many runs as they can so as to reduce the losing margin. In the end, RR could only score 121-6 in 20 overs.
