On Friday, an announcement was made regarding ICC T20 World Cup 2021. It was decided that the arch-rivals India and Pakistan both will contest in Group 2. ICC ensured that India vs Pakistan will be played at least once in the tournament.
The stats of T20 matches between India and Pakistan (IND vs PAK) favor India. The India cricket T20 team has played better, out of 8 matches played between them, India has won 6, whereas Pakistan managed to win only once. The remaining one was a tie.
India vs Pakistan Last Encounter
The India Pakistan world cup match took place on 16th June 2019 during the ICC World Cup at Old Trafford in Manchester. It was decided under the Duckworth-Lewis rule and India defeated Pakistan by 89 runs.
Before that India and Pakistan have been against each other in 5 T20 world cup matches and India has won all five times.
T20 World Cup 2021 Venue
The ICC announced the world T20 2021 venue as UAE and Oman. BCCI shall remain the host of the event and the games would be played at Dubai International Stadium, the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi, the Sharjah Stadium, and the Oman Cricket Academy Ground.
T20 World Cup 2021 Schedule
The T20 World Cup 2021 date/schedule decided is from the 17th of October to the 14th of November 2021.
The tournament was scheduled to be played in India earlier, but widespread Covid-19 and experience of the Indian Premier League which was called off in between – see more, led ICC to decide to shift the venue of the ICC T20 world cup to the UAE.

As per the ICC rules, the participating country has to unveil its 15-member squad by September 10, 2021. BCCI selectors have almost finalized the Indian T20 squad for the upcoming T20 world cup 2021. The announcement can be made anytime soon.

This indeed is a piece of good news for team India and team India cricket fans. Especially, Former Indian Captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni joined the team India as a mentor.
On Dhoni’s appointment as a mentor for team India, Gavaskar told Aaj Tak, “If there are disagreements between Ravi and Dhoni over tactics and team selection, then that may have an effect on the team. I am just praying there is no clash (between them). But if Ravi and Dhoni can get on the same wavelength, then it will immensely benefit India,”
BCCI has dropped the leg spinner Yuzvendra Chahal and included two of the IPL performers leg spinner Varun Chakravarthy and Rahul Chahar. Shikhar Dhawan too could not make it to the 15 member squad and the selectors chose K.L Rahul as an opener.
Also, while picking all-rounders, selectors preferred Hardik Pandya and Axar Patel over Krunal Krunal Pandya and Washington Sundar.

ICC today announced the fixtures for ICC men’s T20 World Cup 2021. The much-awaited tournament will commence on Sunday 17 October 2021 at Al Amerat Cricket Ground in Oman.
Round 1
Round 1 Group B of T20 matches will kick in with the first fixture between Oman and Papua New Guinea on Sunday 17 October 2021. The match will begin at 2 PM (IST). On the same day in the evening at 19:30, the second encounter of Group B will be played between Bangladesh and Scotland at Al Amerat Cricket Ground in Oman.
The round 1 matches will continue till the evening of Friday 22 October between teams of Group A and Group B. The top two teams in each group will proceed to the Super12 stage of the tournament, beginning on 23 October.
Round 2
The 2nd round or the Super 12 Stage of the T20 world cup 2021 will start on Saturday 23 October in Abu Dhabi. In the first encounter, Australia will be up against South Africa from Group 1. On the same day in the evening, England will play against West Indies in Group 1.
Ind / Pak
In the Super 12 Stage, from Group 2, in the first fixture, India will be playing against Pakistan on Sunday 24 October in Dubai International Cricket Stadium at 18:00 (IST).
Group 2 will conclude on Monday 8 November with a match between India and A2 (Runner up of Group A) at Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium, Abu Dhabi at 19:30 (IST).
Eng / Aus
Old rivals England and Australia will be playing in Dubai on Saturday 30 October at 18:00 (IST). Group 1 will conclude on Saturday 6 November with matches between Australia and West Indies in Abu Dhabi at 15:30 (IST) and England and South Africa in Sharjah at 19:30 (IST).
Afghan 1st Match
It is pertinent to see that after such turmoil in Afghanistan, how the team performs in the tournament. On Monday 25 October, Afghanistan will be playing its 1st T20 match in Sharjah Cricket Stadium at 19:30 (IST).
Finals & Semi-Finals
The 1st semifinal will be played on Wednesday 10 November at Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium, Abu Dhabi at 19:30 (IST). While the 2nd semi-final will take place on Thursday 11 November in Dubai International Cricket Stadium at 19:30 (IST). The Finals of the T20 world cup match will be played on Sunday 14 November in Dubai International Cricket Stadium at 19:30 (IST).

ICC T20 World Cup 2021 Anthem
Yesterday, ICC released T20 World Cup 2021 Anthem, “Live The Game”. The world cup is scheduled to be played in Oman from 17th October 2021.
The anthem has been composed by well renowned Indian music director Amit Trivedi. The captains of various T20 contestant teams are shown as ‘avatars’ in one and a half minutes of the animation.
The animation shows people of cities like Jamaica, Mumbai, Auckland, and Karachi. The theme of the Anthem is “Live the Game.”
Justifying the spirit, the video next shows how people who are watching the T20 world cup feel/assume themselves as part of the game and their avatar playing the match in the stadium.
