The records favor KKR and both seem to be playing smart cricket, RCB Harshal Patel is the wicket-taker who is currently holding the Purple cap as well. Also, Glenn Maxwell and Devdutt Paddikkal are in the race of Orange Cap.
For KKR they may not be having big names but they have managed to be in the playoffs, a lot needs to be seen in the match.
RCB has won the toss and they have elected to bat first. Both RCB and KKR came out with the combination of playing XI of the last match and there are no changes made.
Below are the RCB and KKR teams that were declared:
Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB)
Virat Kohli(c), Devdutt Padikkal, Srikar Bharat(w), Glenn Maxwell, AB de Villiers, Daniel Christian, Shahbaz Ahmed, George Garton, Harshal Patel, Mohammed Siraj, Yuzvendra Chahal
After winning the toss the captain of RCB, Virat Kohli decided to bat, it was a bold decision as most of the time in IPL -2, the teams after winning the toss decided to bowl.
Virat Kohli and Devdutt Padikkal opened the innings for RCB, they started scoring handsomely and were 53-1 after the power play.
It was looking as if they are gonna get 160-170 runs on the board, however, they kept losing wickets at regular intervals and the scoring which was 9 runs per over in powerplay kept decreasing.
Especially once Kohli and Glenn Maxwell were out, the team struggled to score, as a result, RCB settled with 138-7 after 20 overs.
From the KKR bowling side, it was Sunil Naraine who clinched 4 wickets, that too of Virat Kohli, Srikar Bharat, Glenn Maxwell, and AB de Villiers
KKR was in a good position to chase 139 at the rate of 6.95 runs per over, Shubhman Gill and Venkatesh Iyer opened the inning for KKR.
They gave a start to KKR that was required, KKR was 48-1 after the power play, later on, Sunil Naraine and Nitish Rana played responsibly and set the base for the win.
In the end, Eoin Morgan and Shakib ul Hasan finished the match. KKR’s final tally was 139-6 after 19.4 overs, they won the match against RCB by 4 wickets.
