IPL 2021 Qualifier 2 – Kolkata Knight Riders vs Delhi Capitals

The IPL 2021 Qualifier 2, 59th IPL match will be played between Kolkata Knight Riders and Delhi Capitals on 13th October 2021 at Sharjah Cricket Stadium, UAE.

The IPL 2021 Qualifier 2 – Pre-match Updates 

Head to Head comparison of matches played and won between the two teams shows that out of 28 matches played between them, KKR won 15 and DC managed to win on 12 occasions, 1 match remained with no result.

The history supports KKR, in the IPL 2021, the last match they played a few days back, DC lost due to lack of penetration in the middle order batting. From KKR Sunil Naraine was on fire, he was awarded the man of the match in the fixture. 

Also, KKR is coming into Qualifier 2 with a win by displacing RCB, Sunil Naraine was awarded Man of the match in that as well. 

On the other hand, DC lost its last match against CSK due to some fabulous batting by CSK. 

Both KKR and DC have their strengths but let us see who wins the game by keeping the nerves calm. 

The IPL 2021 Qualifier 2 – Match Details

Eoin Morgan, the captain of Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) won the toss and decided to bowl first. KKR has kept the winning combination and has not made any change to the playing XI, 

DC has made 1 change, they have played Markus Stoinis in place of Tom Curran.

DC was put on to bat first against KKR, after the middle order’s disappointing performance, DC finished the innings with 135-5 after 20 overs.

KKR played sensibly and beat the top ranking team ‘Delhi Capitals’ by 3 wickets, the KKR’s final score remained 136-7 after 19.5 overs.    

It was a special day for KKR opener Venkatesh Iyer, he was awarded Power Player, Game Changer, Sixer of the match, and  Man of the Match, for his sensible innings of 55 runs off 41 deliveries. 

After beating DC, KKR is the second finalist that will contest for the IPL 2021 title against CSK on 15th October 2021. 

On the other hand, after playing so well throughout the tournament Delhi lost the way at the end in playoffs, they lost two matches in row against CSK and KKR respectively, complete disappointment in the end.
