Rohit Sharma, the captain of Mumbai Indians (MI) won the toss and decided to bowl first. Mumbai has brought back Ishan Kishan and included Jimmy Neesham in place of Quinton de Kock and Krunal Pandya. 

The RR has made 2 changes, Shreyas Gopal and Kuldip Yadav have made in the playing XI in place of A Singh and M Markande.

After losing the toss RR was put on to bat first by MI, It was a really disappointing performance by RR, they fell like a deck of cards. The final score of RR innings was 90-9 after 20 overs. 

Mumbai Indians bowlers did all the hard work and the batsmen just now had to close it down as early as possible to get 2 points and improve on NRR. 

Rohit and Ishan Kishan wrapped up things too quickly, MI won the match by 8 wickets scoring 94-2 in 8.2 overs. 

Nathan Coulter Nile was awarded the Man of the Match award for his envious stats, 4 overs, 14 runs, and 4 wickets. 

RR Innings

After losing the toss RR was put on to bat first by MI, Evin Lewis and Yashasvi Jaiswal opened the innings for RR. 

Both played aggressive cricket, Jayant Yadav who was given the 2nd over was taken for a ride and conceded 15 runs, RR was 26-0 after 3 overs. 

Nathan Coulter-Nile dismissed Jaiswal at 12, RR was 32-1 after 4 overs. 

Sanju Samson and Lewis played together for a brief period, in the last over of the powerplay Jasprit Bumrah departed Lewis LBW at 24, RR was 41-1 after 6 overs. 

In the next over Neesham gave a big blow to RR by dismissing Sanju Samson at 3, RR was 43-3 after 7 overs. 

Neesham again struck and this time bowled out Shivam Dube at 3, RR was 49-4 after 9 overs. 

In the next over it was Nathan Coulter-Nile’s turn, he dismissed Glenn Phillips at 4, RR was 50-5 after 10 overs. 

David Miller and Rahul Tewatia were in the middle and built a partnership of 20 odd runs, Neesham took his 3rd wicket by dismissing Tewatia at 12, RR was 71-6 after 15 overs. 

It was a total mess for RR, all the established batsmen were out of the crease and its bowlers turn to face the fierce Mumbai Indians bowling attack. Shreyas Gopal replaced Tewatia but to return back with a golden duck, he was dismissed by Bumrah, RR was 74-7 after 16 overs. 

Miller too did not do anything special and was departed by Nathan Coulter-Nile at 15, Coulter-Nile got his 3rd wicket, RR was 76-8 after 17 overs. 

Coulter-Nile got his 4th wicket in the 19th over and RR was 83-9 after 19 overs. 

It was a really disappointing performance by RR, they fell like a deck of cards. The final score of RR innings was 90-9 after 20 overs.

MI Innings 

Mumbai Indians bowlers did all the hard work and the batsmen just now had to close it down as early as possible to get 2 points and improve on NRR. 

Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan opened the innings for MI. In the very first over of Mustafizur, Rohit hit 14 runs and MI was 14-0 after 1 over. 

Ishan Kishan played too cautiously the 2nd over that was bowled by Chetan Sakariya, It was a maiden. 

In the 3rd over MI hit 9 runs and they were 23-0. 

Sakariya gave a breakthrough to RR and dismissed Rohit at 22, MI was 35-1 after 4 overs

Surya Kumar Yadav and Ishan Kishan scored 13 runs off Kuldip Yadav’s over, MI was 48-1 after 5 overs

Mustafizur Rahman dismissed Surya in the 6th over at 13, MI was 56-2 after 6 overs. 

Hardik Pandya replace Surya and the next over went a little silently, MI was 60-2 after 7 overs. 

In the next over of Sakariya Ishan Kishan hit 19 runs, MI was 84-2 after 8 overs. 

Ishan was in too hurry to wrap up the things, he hit 10 runs in the next over bowled by Mustafizur, Ishan completed his 50 runs off 25 deliveries and Mumbai won by 8 wickets.

MI won the match by scoring 94-2 in 8.2 overs.
