08 September 2021 – Update on Ola Electric Scooter
The purchase window was expected to open today but couldn’t due to technical glitches on the website, Bhavesh Aggarwal, the co-founder of Ola tweeted tonite.
The purchase window is now scheduled to open on 15th September at 8 am, it will be for those customers who have pre-booked the Ola S1 and S1 pro electric scooter. Once opened the purchase window will remain open till stocks last.
Steps to Purchase (Once opened)
- Log in to the Ola Electric scooter website using your phone number
- Choose the variant (color and model)
- Once the model and specifications are chosen you are given the payment option, depending on the variant you have selected, you will now have to pay your balance amount.
For those looking to finance their scooters, the EMI for the Ola electric S1 scooter will start at Rs 2,999 per month. For the S1 Pro, the EMI will start from Rs 3,199.
Once you are done with payment formalities the system will generate a delivery date. The deliveries are expected to start in October 2021.
The Launch of Ola Electric Scooter
On 15th August (Sunday), Ola commercially launched e-scooter offerings — Ola S1 and S1 Pro. The booking price is ₹499 and the price of owning the scooter starts from ₹99,999 (excluding state government incentives, registration fee, and insurance cost), the e-scooter will be available in 10 colors.

The ola has come up with 2 variants S1 and S1 Pro, the S1 pro seems to be better placed when considering the max speed, range (kilometer running in single charge), and color choice. However, it is ₹30000 more than S1.

As per the ola website, the two variants (S1 and S1 pro) will be available at the prices detailed below.
Ola electric scooter price for S1 model is between ₹79,999 and ₹99,999 (depending upon state taxes). Whereas the S1 Pro model will cost between ₹1,09,999 and ₹1,29,999 (depending upon state taxes).

The Production Facility of Ola Electric Scooter
The first batch of scooters will be produced at Ola’s new plant in Tamil Nadu, which is currently under development. In another tweet, Bhavish shared the development of the Ola plant in TN. The corporation has formerly said that it’ll make investments of ₹2400 crores in this manufacturing unit.
This manufacturing facility will be capable of producing 2 million electric-powered two-wheelers per year and could employ around 10,000 people. It is expected to be the world’s biggest two-wheeler production manufacturing facility. The plant’s operations are predicted to start within the following couple of months, and it’ll adhere to Industry 4.0 standards.
