Panchayat Season 2 – The People and Politics of Phulera

In Panchayat Season 1, Abhishek Tripathi (Jitendra) aka Sachiv Ji took up the job in the Phulera, a village in Heartland India where he started adapting to the village and villagers.

He got close to the village’s former Pradhan Brij Bhushan Dube (Raghubir Yadav), his wife, the current Pradhan Manju Devi (Neena Gupta), and the other two office-bearers (played by Faisal Malik and Chandan Roy).

Jitendra comes back once again in the lighthearted drama panchayat season 2 but this time it’s all about the people and politics of Phulera!

Deepak Kumar Mishra has once again outdone his skills as a phenomenal director by depicting such a closer to nature, a real and rather sweet sort of drama which does nothing but captures you in itself by the story that can be felt very relatable and very close to heart by many of us.

Being released on Wednesday, May 18 on Amazon Prime, the comedy-drama story begins 2 months after where it ended in panchayat season 1. Abhishek Tripathi aka Jitendra has now started accepting what life has given to him and can be seen to be rectified to the new place and unwanted job.

Also, you can see the connections he has slowly built up with his co-workers.

Many times, the drama is shooted in the office of the village panchayat. The story is centered around the politics in Phulera when Jitendra with his fellows will be seen analyzing the difficulties and coming up with solutions.

Also, Neena Gupta as Manju Devi has done phenomenal acting as can be expected from such a competent and all-rounder actress.

However, there are certain facts that if accounted for while launching the drama would have garnered much tremendous response. Like, the first 2 episodes are relatively slow and weren’t enough apprehending.

Abhishek’s family background isn’t also discussed so that one can have an idea of what actually is wrong with Abhishek’s attitude which is more like a critical and serious one.

While talking as a whole, the 8 episodes drama Panchayat season 2 is a must to watch since it has roots that are so genuine and the acting so emotional yet funny.
