Tokyo Olympics 2021 Day 12: After losing the semis, Indian boxer Lovlina gets bronze. Athlete Neeraj Chopra to play for gold in finals of Javelin Throw, Ravi Dahiya to Fight for Gold, Deepak Punia, Anshu Malik in Chance for Bronze. Women’s Hockey Team Lose Semis and will play against Great Britain on 6th August 2021 for bronze.

Tokyo Olympics 2021 Day 12 – India at Olympics Today
Some Updates regarding today’s games played by the team India at Tokyo Olympics 2020 are as follows:
Lovlina gets bronze in Boxing
In the women’s welter (64-69 kg) Semi-finals 1 of the boxing tournament at Olympics 2020, Indian boxer Lovlina Borgohain was against World’s no. 1, Turkey boxer Busenaz Sürmeneli. Although she won the Olympics 2020 bronze, yet, she lost badly to Turkey’s boxer Busenaz in the semis.
Turkey registered a convincing win over India by scoring 5-0. India lost to Turkey in all 5 rounds by 30-26, 30-26, 30-25, 30-25, and 30-25. Lovlina had been given standing eight counts in the first and last rounds, but she managed to complete the bout.
The good news is that India got the 3rd medal.
Hockey
In the much-hyped Semi-Finals of Women’s Hockey tournament, today, India lost against Argentina by 2-1 at Oi Hockey Stadium, North Pitch. The Argentina team took lead from the first quarter itself by 1-0.
However, Gurjit Kaur from the Indian side scored a goal and India managed to level the score by 1-1 in the 2nd quarter. Argentina again took a lead of 2-1 in the third quarter and prevented India to score any goal in the 3rd and final quarter. From the Argentina side, both the goals were scored by the captain Maria Noel. India has been knocked out of the Gold/Silver medal race.
After losing the semis, India is still hopeful of winning the bronze medal by winning the bronze medal match against Great Britain on 6th August 2021.

Athletics
In the Men’s javelin throw Qualification round of group B, Indian athlete, Shivpal Singh remained at 12th position among 16 states and couldn’t qualify for the Final. He registered 76.40 m distance which was not good at all to move to the next round.
From group B, Arshad Nadeem from Pakistan, Jakub Vadlejch from the Czech Republic, Julian Weber from Germany, could only qualify for the Finals.

Nonetheless, Indian Athlete Neeraj Chopra, who is an Asian game-winner in Javelin throw contested in the Men’s javelin throw Qualification round of group A and topped the group by registering a throw of 86.65. He moved to finals.
Golf
In the Women’s individual Golf final, round 01 Aditi Ashok from India remained at second position while another Indian golf player Diksha Dagar stood at 56th position among sixty players.
Tokyo2020 for India announced on Twitter:
“A bright start in round 01 of Women’s stroke play for #IND’s Aditi Ashok as she is currently tied in 2nd place with #USA’s Nelly Korda. @DikshaDagar finished in the 56th position. They will both play in Round 2 tomorrow!
Wrestling
Deepak Punia
In the Men’s freestyle 86kg Wrestling 1/8 final today, Deepak Punia from India won against Ekerekeme Agiomor of Nigeria by scoring 12 (SUP -superiority) -1. Thereafter, In the 1/4 final, Indian wrestler Deepak Punia won against Lin Zushen from China by 6-3.
However, in the semi-final today, Deepak Punia lost against David Taylor Lii of the United States by 10-0 (SUP-superiority). Deepak will play for bronze on the 5th of August against Myles Nazem of San Marino.
Ravi Dahiya
In the Men’s freestyle 57kg Wrestling 1/8 final, Indian wrestler Ravi Kumar Dahiya won against Oscar Eduardo of Colombia by 13-2 moving to 1/4 finals. Thereafter, in 1/4 finals, Ravi won against Georgi Vangelov from Bulgaria by 14 (SUP-superiority) – 4.
Indian wrestler Ravi Kumar Dahiya fought against Kazakhstan wrestler Sanayev Nurislam and won in the last round of 57kg semi-finals by 07 falls against Nurislam Sanayev.
During the semis, his opponent Sanayev bit him so hard but Ravi did not lose his gam and scripted history at the Tokyo Olympics by securing a place in the finals.
Anshu Malik
In Women’s freestyle 57kg Wrestling 1/8 final today, Indian wrestler Anshu Malik won against Kurachkina of Belarus scoring 8-2.
