Background of the Series
House of the Dragon is being created by George R.R. Martin and Ryan Condal and the story is taken from Martin’s book “A Song of Ice and Fire”.
The story of the House Targaryen is set 200 years before the events of Game of Thrones (2011). The series is based on the conflict that arises within the Targaryen house to rule on the Iron Throne.
The storyline within the book tells the end of house Targaryen (family of Valyrian descent) and the events leading up to the Targaryen dynastic civil war and the defense of the Wall of ice in the uttermost north of Westeros against the unearthly creatures the Others.
King Viserys ruled the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros. The book suggests that the war for King Viserys I’s throne is fought between Aegon II and his half-sister Rhaenyra that resulted in the deaths of both rival monarchs, and eventually, Rhaenyra’s son, Aegon III gets crowned.
This means “House of the Dragons” while, also be having “Dance of the Dragons”. Dance here implies civil war, much impressive wording, though.
House of Dragon – What Trailer Reveals?
The trailer starts with the title “200 years before the fall of the iron throne.”
In the series house, Targaryen takes control of Westeros with the help of giant dragons.
The entry of dragons is what builds the mood within the series. An unknown voice utters, “Gods. Kings. Fire. And blood”.
Otto Hightower, King Viserys I with hid sword, Prince Daemon Targaryen, and Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen can be seen on the beach.
Another voice speaks: “Dreams didn’t make us kings. Dragons did” and suddenly a camera captures the Targaryen woman striding towards a quite different throne than the one reflected in the “Games of Throne.”
There are swords all around it grounded harshly to the ground. The scene seems dangerous and wild. Soon appears a title board highlighting the releasing year of the House of the Dragon as 2022.
